LET’S BE GREEDY!!

 

Here is a glimpse of the various treasures of the area.

 

  The fields

The sea and the rivers.

·  fish and shellfish.

 

 

It is easy to understand that Normandy is the land of gastronomy!!

Cider, « camembert », butter, cream,  products from the farm and the sea are the Norman’s favourite food

 

 LESSAY

        

 You may discover all the secrets of production of  camembert at « la fromagerie du Val d’AY ». When visiting «les Jambons du Cotentin. », you will learn eveything about smoked ham.

 

Come and enter the world of funfairs during the 3 days of the Ste Croix (the second weekend of September). Take the opportunity to listen and try to understand the Norman dialect. The «tournous de gigot» will roast a quarter of salt field lamb that you may taste sitting under a tent, drinking a few bowls of cider  (« le ber de tcheu nous»).

 

 

In the area

 

         Go on a seafood diet in the various restaurants of PIROU and St GERMAIN sur AY where you may taste oysters, mussels and other shellfish.
